Exploding Plastic Inevitable @ Fylkingen

2016

The Exploding Plastic Inevitable was made 1966 and has been called the first multimedia happening in art history.

Andy Warhol's films were projected on performance artists and rock bands like the "Velvet Underground" among others. Whether or not this really was the first show of its kind, we wanted to celebrate the blend of film, video, lighting, music and sound art at Fylkingen in Stockholm 50 years after.

It was an evening of film screening, dj sets, performance art and live music. A blend of artists doing their own thing, together, by themselves, and interacting with the audience.

With the reconstruction of a historical event as a starting point, we continued the experiment further on, into the future of electronic music and psychedelic art.
